Leka lived in Japan and worked several times together with Zou No Hana Terrace in Yokohama. She works interdisciplinary, mainly with graphic, installation, video and sculptures. Leka makes drawings, and combines them with paintings and collages, sculptures and video installations.
Leka had a long lasting desire to learn how to work three-dimensional with specific materials such as wax and create a new visual language. The Master Apprenticeship Program organized by the Art Indeed Foundation in Groningen was a perfect opportunity for her to learn new skills from local artist Miriam Knibbeler and other specialized creatives. After two months of learning and working in Groningen, she worked for one month in the residency of the Bierumer School, next to the Groninger Seaport of Eemshaven. It was a perfect place to focus, explore and work with new mediums and materials. The results of the program were presented in the exhibition: Time Studies in July 2024 in the exhibition rooms of the Bierumer School.
