RINTARO HARA

The amount of daylight in Finland varies greatly according to the season. From the white nights of the arctic summer to the darkness of the polar nights, Finland is home to natural phenomena which do not occur in Japan. The gallery space in Hara’s installation, represented both the arctic white night and polar night.

Artist Rintaro Hara’s exhibition at Gallery Forum Box, Helsinki, Finland was a part of the Port Journeys’ network collaboration. Since 2016 Forum Box has been a member of the international art network of harbour cities all around the world. The network’s projects offer new opportunities for Forum Box artists for international collaborations. The collaboration with Japan begun in 2017 with Finnish artist Markus K
